Question: I'm getting a new phone, what should I do to prepare?

I am getting/have gotten a new phone. Is there anything related to Biola that I should do to prepare to start using my new phone?

Cause:

  • New device, new phone.

Before deactivating your old phone: 

  1. Switch your Microsoft MultiFactor Authentication method to text:
    1. Go to https://mysignins.microsoft.com/security-info in a browser and sign in with your Biola account.
    2. Click the button for Add a Sign-in Method and add phone with text as a MFA method, following the prompts on the screen.
  2. Remove your Biola digital ID and eAccounts app from the old phone
    1. In your old phone's wallet app, remove your Biola digital ID.
    2. Open the Transact eAccounts app on your old phone, then...
      1. Tap the gear icon in the top right-hand corner, then tap the Sign Out button.
        Note: If you miss this step, you can log in to https://biola-sp.transactcampus.com/eAccounts/CardServiceCardDeactivate.aspx and select your old phone from the dropdown to deactivate the old card.

On your new phone:

  1. Download the Gmail app from your app store, and sign in to your Biola email account within that app.
  2. Set up the Microsoft Authenticator App on your new phone
    1. Go to https://mysignins.microsoft.com/security-info on a computer browser and sign in with your Biola account.
    2. Click the button for Add a Sign-in Method and select Microsoft Authenticator app and follow the on-screen instructions.
  3. Download the Transact eAccounts app and add your ID card to your new phone's wallet app.
    1. If you have trouble with your digital ID after following the directions above, please visit our ID Card Services page and click the button on the right that reads "Problem with Digital ID" to get help.
