VPN Remote Access (AnyConnect)

Details

Cisco AnyConnect is Biola's Virtual Private Network (VPN) service that allows employees and students to access on-campus services like files.biola.edu, WebDev, Banner, and printers from off campus.

A VPN also creates a safe and encrypted connection on any network. You should always use a VPN when using public or untrusted WiFi.

Biola VPN access requires the Cisco AnyConnect software to be installed. All staff and faculty are eligible to use this service once they accept the following service agreement during the login process. Student eligibility is determined on a case-by-case basis.

Service Eligibility

By Default: Staff & Faculty

With Special Permission: Students, Alumni, & Third-Party Vendors

Requesting this Service

All staff and faculty VPN accounts are active by default.

Students, Student Workers, alumni, and other individuals who have a Biola NetID but are not regularly employed by the University must have an employee or faculty member request access for them, and they must provide a business or educational reason for having access.

3rd party vendors may also request access under the same restrictions.

Access for non-employees and 3rd party vendors can be requested through the "Request VPN Access" button to the right.

Non-employee and 3rd party vendor access requests that are not submitted by Biola staff or faculty will not be processed.
