Introduction
Google 2-Step Verification adds an additional layer of protection by requiring, as Google says, something you know (your password) AND something you have (your mobile phone) to access your account from a new device. Before you Begin:
- Make sure you're logged in to your Biola email account.
2SV for Departments:
- If you are enabling 2SV for a shared department account, you may need to enable Gmail Delegation or request a Shared Drive. See our 2SV for Departments FAQ for more information.
Procedure
- Enter your password and click Next.
- If asked to set up Google app prompt,
- Click Show more options.
- Select Text message or voice call.
- Otherwise, continue to the next step.
- Note: You may use Google app prompt, but we recommend text or voice calling in case you lose access to your Google apps.
- Type your phone number in the phone number text box.
- Select Text message or Phone call.
- Click NEXT.
- Either open the text message or answer the phone call and retrieve the verification code.
- Enter the verification code in the text box and click NEXT.
