How to Set Up Windows Hello

Purpose

This article provides instructions on how to set up and use Windows Hello on a Biola managed PC. It includes steps for registering Windows Hello, setting up a PIN, and enabling facial recognition or fingerprint sign-in options.

 

Instructions

Registering Windows Hello

  1. Confirm that you are ready to create a PIN.
  2. Sign into your Azure AD account using your email and password and complete the Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) process.
  3. Set a PIN that you can easily remember. If you forget the PIN, you can sign in with your password and reset it.

Enabling Facial Recognition or Fingerprint Sign-In

  1. Go to Start > Settings > Accounts > Sign-in options.
  2. Under Ways to Sign in, select Facial recognition (Windows Hello) or Fingerprint (Windows Hello).
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions to set up the desired sign-in method.

Continuing to Use Password Sign-In

After setting up your PIN, you can still use your password to sign in.

  1. On the sign-in page, click Sign in Options.
  2. Click the key icon.
  3. Sign in with your Biola email and password as before.

How to Get It

Windows Hello will be automatically applied to your Biola managed Windows computer when you log in, starting June 5th, 2023.
