How to Resolve Common eAccounts App Errors

This article provides instructions to common issues when signing in to the Transact eAccounts App and other issues when adding a digital ID

Pre-requisites:

  • An iOS/Android device with digital wallet functionality (e.g., Apple Wallet, Google Wallet, Samsung Wallet)
  • User must be a current Student or Employee (Staff, Faculty, Bon Appetit)
    • Alumni, Volunteers, and Vendros will not have access to Digital IDs
 

Common Issues

eAccounts Sign-In Errors

Method 1

  1. Delete & Reinstall the eAccounts app
  2. Sign-in again using your Biola SSO login
  3. Sometimes, even though you re-installed the eAccounts app, iOS or Android may remember your old application data (e.g., if you are syncing your app data in iCloud or Google).
    • When opening the App, if you still see the Sign-In button that leads to an error, you may need to "Add a New Account" instead

Method 2

  1. Open the Transact eAccounts app on your smartphone.
  2. Tap the "Add another account" text underneath the "Continue to Sign In" button (iOS) or the "+" sign in the upper right-hand corner (Android).
  3. Find or search for "Biola University" in the list of institutions.
  4. Select "BU Azure SSO" and tap "Sign In".
  5. Sign in with your Biola email address (this is Microsoft SSO).
  6. Authenticate with your Microsoft MFA method.
  7. Click the checkbox for "Stay Signed In" and continue

 

"Image not Found"

  1. Account is missing an ID photo
    1. Either missing a submitted a photo, submission has not yet been processed, or it has not yet been approved

 

Unable to Add to Wallet

Your digital ID may still be added and active on a previous device

  1. Visit or Contact the IT Service Desk for assistance if you do not have access to your old device.
  2. Otherwise, simply remove it from your the digital wallet on the old device and try adding again.

Android

  1. Make sure the device has screen lock enabled (swipe/pattern, passcode, etc.)
  2. Check NFC settings (device overall and for the card specifically)

iOS (iPhone)

  1. Check parental settings/locks for any accounts that are part of an iCloud Family Account
  2. Make sure all terms & conditions have been accepted for any iCloud updates
