How to Access the Blackboard Transact applications

This page explains how to access the Blackboard Transact TSMain application from both Windows PCs and MacOS devices, using the bbinstall.ad.biola.edu server as a new location to host the applications.

Prerequisites

• To connect to the applications from off campus, you'll first need to connect to Biola's network using VPN.
• Access to the Transact Applications is managed via Microsft Access Group. There are different groups for various departments, and each group has its own manager:
  • Transact - Campus Safety Users
  • Transact - Aux Services Users
  • Transact - Bon Appetit Users​​​
  • Transact - Information Technology Users

1. Open Windows File Explorer.
2. Right-click on This PC, and select Map Network Drive.
3. When prompted, enter the following address in the Folder field:
   \\bbinstall.ad.biola.edu\workstation

   Note: When connecting on a non-Biola owned machine (e.g., Bon Appetit), check the Connect using different credentials box and enter biola\ in the username field.

4. Enter your admin_NetID and password and click Finish.
5. Click on the App Shortcuts folder.
6. Select the application you need to use.

1. When the Transact application window appears, enter the following for the Web API Server FQDN:
   bbapp.ad.biola.edu
2. Enter your Transact username and password for the User Name and Password.

1. Open Windows File Explorer.
2. Click on This PC, then right-click on the bbinstall.ad.biola.edu server and select Disconnect Network Drive.

1. Open Microsoft Remote Desktop.
2. Click the "+" drop-down menu and select "Add PC".
3. Enter bbinstall.ad.biola.edu in the PC Name: field, and click Add.
4. Double-click the icon for the newly added server.
5. You'll be prompted to enter your credentials. Enter BIOLA\ and your password.
6. Click Continue to connect to the bbinstall.ad.biola.edu server.

1. On the desktop, double-click on the App Shortcuts folder.
2. Launch the application you need to use.

Note: The folder on the desktop is a copy of the folder found at the following path:
E:\Workstation\App Shortcuts
If for any reason the App Shortcuts folder on the desktop is not there, you can find the folder at the path above.
