How to Enable Google 2-Step Verification past enrollment period

Purpose

Google 2-Step Verification (2SV) adds an extra layer of security to your Biola Google account by requiring a second verification factor in addition to your password.

Biola's Information Technology department requires all students, staff, and faculty to enable 2-Step Verification. Failure to comply may result in the loss of access to your Biola Google account (e.g., Gmail, Google Drive, Google Calendar).

Instructions

How to Enable Google 2-Step Verification

  1. Visit Google's 2-Step Verification page.
  2. Log in with your Biola email address and password.
  3. Follow the instructions on screen to enroll into 2-Step Verification.
  4. Click turn on.
  5. If you are prompted, enter a Google 2-Step Verification backup code and click Next. For assistance with obtaining a verification code, contact the IT Helpdesk at it.helpdesk@biola.edu. If you have set up a previous method, click Try another way or get a verification code using other configured methods.
