NoMAD - Mac Password Sync

NoMAD Prompts to enter in Password

An issue can occur on Biola-managed Mac devices where if your Biola Account password is changed for any reason, your computer will prompt with a pop-up from NoMAD software stating: "Your network and local passwords are not the same. Please enter your password for your Mac."

Applies to:

  • MacOS
  • Any Biola managed staff or faculty workstation

Cause:

  • A change in the user's Biola password.

Resolution

  1. This occurs because the NoMAD software runs in the background to verify your Mac's computer login password ("local password") with your Biola Account password ("network password").

  2. When you change your Biola account password, you may be prompted by the NoMAD application again to sign in with your previous password, in order to update your Mac's Keychain password ("local password") to stay in sync with the new Biola account password ("network password").

  3. Once the new password is entered, your Mac password will be in sync again, and NoMAD will no longer prompt you.
